Dorna Lakayan is an interior architect and designer with a refined and holistic approach to architecture, interiors, and product design that combines her Persian heritage with modern and minimal Scandinavian design language.

As the founder of Studio Lakayan, Dorna has completed an extensive portfolio worldwide ranging from master planning and residential architecture to restaurants, retail, hotels, offices, furniture, and lighting.

Dorna believes in honoring location, local materials, and crafts. She embraces the idea that design shapes our everyday lives and habits in a profound way. Therefore she tailors spaces with sensitive attention and understanding of where a project is located and how a space is used or lived in. This requires meticulous attention to detail, curiosity, and ambition.

Dorna holds a Master's in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design from Oslo National Academy of the Arts and has received her academic training internationally as an architect, artist, and designer. Before founding the studio in 2021, Dorna worked in Iran, Malaysia, and Norway. Today she works with a culturally diverse team of architects, interior designers, product designers, graphic designers, and material experts in Oslo and Amsterdam.
